Chicago 1990 Chapter 05:- it's impossible to work

Tl:- madghost

"Hey! Hey!"

The gun was not just for show. The people from the opposite side immediately tried to cool down both sides. They raised their hands and spread their five fingers towards Tony, indicating that they had no intention of attacking, and kept shouting: "Calm down, calm down!"

Only the man who caused the trouble was still struggling with his neck. He kept breathing heavily and kept staring at the gun frequently while continuing to confront Tony.

"Come on, if you are brave enough, nger."

Tony cracked his neck and barked his teeth at the opponent. Deliberately pushed his fat belly forward, loosening the gun in his waist and moving it more closer towards the opponent's hand instead.

Everyone playing in the field found something wrong happening here and stopped playing, making the whole ground silent.

1…...2…..3…..4….5…..6....7…. the time seemed to have frozen in those seven seconds.

"Forget it. Forget it."

The two people who had just admitted defeat hurriedly pulled their companion's shoulders back, perceiving the danger. "Let's go; let’s go."

The man struggled tenaciously for a while, but when he was gasping for breath, he was dragged backward.

"P****, get out! Don't let me see you here again in the future!"

At this time, Little Lori, who stayed behind Tony, ran out, hit the angry person in the head with his fist.

That guy got so angry that the blue veins on his forehead were bulging, his eyes were blood-red. He was like a beast ready to swallow a living person at that moment. His companions pulled him back and finally got him away from everyone's sight.

"Fortunately, there was no accident..."

Song Ya breathed a sigh of relief. The scene just now was too tense. He couldn't imagine what would have happened in the future if that guy dared to take a shot from Tony's gun.
"America can become really exciting." He secretly complained.

Tony put down the hem of his clothes to block the gun and shouted at the people watching the excitement in the field: "Everything is alright! OK?"

The sound of the ball bouncing started again.

Little Lori smiled at AK: "Have you recovered? If so, We will continue."

After getting the affirmative answer from AK, he shouted at the others: "Will the division remain the same?"

"No change, Alex..." Tony motioned to Song Ya.

"Still playing? What if they find someone to come back and retaliate?" Song Ya was shocked. ‘Still staying to play, so much courage!?’

"Shut your mouth." Tony stepped closer and murmured while clenching his jaw.

"Okay." Song Ya had no choice but to walk to the top of the arc and set up a posture and once again confronted Little Lowry.

There were a lot less people playing in the court than before. Song Ya noticed that there are still a few others who are packing up and preparing to leave.

"Could they all smell the danger?" He felt that he was a little bit turbulent now. A little shadow flushing by the corner of the court, or the sound of a police siren coming from the distant street, can make his heart tense.

‘Wait? Somethings not right…’

He suddenly realized that Little Lori was acting weird. The breakthroughs from before were gone, the moves were gone, and was continually stumbling with the dribble.

‘No, everyone is acting weird.’

Although they all pretended to be okay, everyone was speaking a lot less, and their movements have become a little stiffer. The 'silencer,’ who can't hide his emotions correctly, was the same as himself, always peeking towards the barbed wires with his eyes.

Song Ya grinned when he understood the situation. Although the black brothers' "face-saving" point is not the same as that of the Chinese, they are also quite cute in their subtle details.

They continued to play and stayed on the court for another four to fifty minutes.

"Dididi..." Suddenly an electronic bell rang out under the basketball hoop.

"Sorry."

AK walked over and found a pager from the pile of clothes. After reading the message, he shouted to Little Lori: "It's the boss. He seems to be in a hurry!"

"Okay." Little Lori threw the ball to Song Ya and said to Tony: "It looks like I can only get here today, and continue next time."

"Okay." Tony hugged him and hammered the other's vest with his fist. "You know how to find me and just call."

"Well, thank you for today." Little Lori talked to the Silencer, and Song Ya, and gave Song Ya a big hug.

"Your business is our business." Tony said.

Little Lori solemnly hammered his heart.

Everyone left separately.

When the silencer started the car, Tony also tucked the pistol under the seat to hide it. The rock in Song Ya's heart finally settled.

"What's the matter with you!? Things have happened, and you are still standing where you are watching the excitement!"

Tony turned around and blamed: "If something similar happens in the future, you have to rush forward and act in line with us, alright? Or else you will be isolated."

‘I’m isolated.’ Song Ya never intends to gang up with them.

"Why?" He asked, "Why fight for such a small thing? Why do you take such a big risk? Is it worth it?"

Neither Tony nor Silencer answered. After a while, Silencer spoke a heavy sentence, "No scholarship, no college."

"We don't mix with gangs or touch drugs, the dedication for so many years, for what?" Tony said: "It's just to be picked by the university and get a scholarship to leave this damn place! Do you think we are willing to fight against people on the street like that before?"

"And the results?  No college teams want us; even community colleges don't want us."

"If we don't go to college, what are we going to do after we graduate? Working the night shift at K's? Or clean the toilets on Commercial Streets?"

"No, Little Lori is our best opportunity, and this time we must seize it!"

"When his album is officially released, he'll be missing lots and lots of help, and he promised that he’d bring us along." A trace of longing emerged in Tony's eyes. "I have known him since I was a child, and when he has developed, there is nothing wrong with taking us to eat and drink..."

Song Ya was a little stunned, "So you’re saying that Little Lori promised to provide you with a specific position?"

"Why the f**** do I have such a stupid brother!"

Tony cursed: "did you really take the test? Have you really got A+? Little Lori and I are brothers. We go forward together, and we spend money together..."

"WTF! Are you stupid, or am I stupid!?" Song Ya was shocked, why would others spend money with you?

Well, it turned out that Song Ya was really stupid. Under Tony's explanation, he finally understood.
It turns out that the black community does have this tradition. Because entertainment and sports stars hold the fastest way for the black class in the slums to escape. Singers and stars get rich overnight. They have the responsibility to drag their relatives who are suffering together. Brothers and other chickens and dogs ascend to heaven together. The so-called spending money together is a bit exaggerated, but if Little Lori is really a hit and is willing to bring Tony and the ‘silencer', their lives will indeed change qualitatively.

Of course, they won't just sit and do nothing. Work as a bodyguard, helping to order takeaway, playing a game console, being a wingman, and there’s also like the fight today. ‘Huh? That's a lot of work.’

"Let me process. Let me process it."

Song Ya's thinking inertia slowly turned around. "That is to say, if Little Lori becomes popular, the jobs he can provide for you two are... …follower/lackey?"

"It's a brother, Buddy." Tony corrected.

‘If you say it nicely, it is a brother, but isn't that just being a jockey or attendant or helper?’ Song Ya secretly complained. ‘Right.’

He thought of several possibilities, "What if Little Lori fails to become popular? What if he thinks your loyal behavior today is too impulsive and is afraid to take you by his side? He always listens to the music boss, right? What if his boss disagrees that he takes you with him?"

"Uh..."

Tony and ‘Silencer’ looked at each other, "If that's the case..." Tony murmured: "Then we only have one way to go; to the gang." The expressions of the two of them dimmed.

‘So in the final analysis, it's impossible to work a job, right?’ Song Ya understood it all and said in his heart.
